Why this exists
I write to find out what I actually think. A question snags on something, I follow it further than is reasonable, and what comes back is an essay.
There is no subject here, only a method. One week it is the acoustics of a volcano, the next it is why every flat map of the earth has to lie to you. The only rule is that the thing has to have kept me up.
